University Professorship in Building Construction Design

The Faculty of Architecture and Landscape invites applications for the following position of salary scale W3 NBesO starting April 1, 2026: University Professorship in Building Construction Design

The Position

  • Innovative building design regarding the transformation to climate-friendly construction. This can include aspects of curricular design, the use of CO2-neutral materials or simple construction methods.
  • Holistic approach to design and construction that considers the material composition and energy flow over the entire life cycle of buildings.
  • Interdisciplinary methodology of design, planning and construction using digital technologies such as parametric-design, building information modelling or AI methods.
  • Teaching is primarily aimed at students on the Architecture degree programme, but also at students of civil engineering and vocational studies in the building trade.

Your Profile

  • Experience in practice, research and teaching in the field of building construction
  • Outstanding scientific research or other achievements that have led to significant progress in building research or construction in the field of sustainable construction
  • Outstanding design and technical skills, particularly in the use of materials, construction and detail development, or a new aesthetic of sustainability
  • Motivation to work in the faculty research focus ‘Sustainable, liveable and inclusive cities’
  • National and international networking in science and practice

The candidate is expected to be able to teach selected courses in English.
