Coronavirus: start of the new semester postponed – examinations suspended until further notice

Dear students,

The start of the lecture period at Leibniz University Hannover will be postponed until 20 April 2020. This measure is in compliance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony (MWK).

In this context, the current examination period as well as all lectures currently in process will be suspended. As of now, there will be no examinations at LUH until further notice.

LUH is working vigorously on solutions to ensure that affected students experience as little disadvantage as possible. On behalf of university management, we thank you for your patience in this matter.

In addition, there will be further closures:

  • TIB - Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology and University Library: all reading and study areas shall be closed as of 5 p.m. Friday 13 March 2020, prospectively until 19 April 2020. The circulation desks at the Science/Technology and Conti-Campus locations will be open Monday to Friday 9 am. to 5 p.m., enabling books to continue to be borrowed. Online materials shall be available around the clock as usual. For up-to-date information, please check the TIB website: www.tib.eu
  • University Sports Centre: sports courses shall be cancelled as of 4 p.m. Friday 13 March 2020 until further notice.

For additional information, please check our website (www.uni-hannover.de/corona). We strive to provide information on new developments as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience in this dynamic situation.

Kind regards

Prof. Dr. Volker Epping
