Universality, interdisciplinary skills and an international character are our strengths on the path towards outstanding research performance. More than 300 professors and over 2,600 non-professorial academics investigate questions in the natural sciences and engineering, the humanities and social sciences, and interdisciplinary issues, thus laying the foundations for tackling today's societal challenges. By pooling outstanding individual achievements across the disciplines we are able to make our excellent research visible internationally.
