Accolade for highly cited researchers

Two professors at Leibniz University Hannover named “Highly Cited Researchers 2024”.

Prof. Dr. Nadja Kabisch and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Caro of Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) are once again among the world’s top 1% most influential researchers in their fields according to Clarivate’s “Highly Cited Researchers” list. This is based on the frequency with which their scientific publications have been cited by other researchers in the past ten years. The ranking takes place in 20 fields within the natural and social sciences, as well as in the interdisciplinary “cross-field” category. The list is published annually by Clarivate Analytics based on data from the Web of Science publications database. This year it features 6,636 researchers from around the world, approximately 330 of whom are from Germany.

 Prof. Dr. Nadja Kabisch joined LUH in 2022 as a professor of digital landscape ecology in the Physical Geography and Landscape Ecology Section of the Institute of Earth System Sciences. She has been named on the list since 2020 in the categories “cross-field” and “social sciences”, and has made the list once again in 2024 in the category “social sciences”. Prof. Dr. Jürgen Caro a.D. has been researching and teaching the LUH Institute of Physical Chemistry and Electrochemistry since 2001. He has been a full professor at the South China University of Technology in Guangzhou (China) since 2020 and still teaches at LUH. Caro has been named on the list of “Highly Cited Researchers” since 2021 in the categories “cross-field” and “chemistry”. This year, he is once again included in the “cross-field” category.
