Great success for LUH: several projects developed at various faculties have been awarded funding by the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony (MWK) in the framework of the programme "Qualität plus - Programm zur Entwicklung des Studiums von morgen" (Quality plus - developing concepts for tomorrow''s higher education). Six out of 48 approved projects were developed at Leibniz University Hannover. With an approval rate of approximately 86 percent, LUH is thus well above the average (approximately 50 percent). All six projects will be funded in full with a total amount of 2.14 million euros.
The panel of experts approved the following LUH projects:
- Improving the curriculum for the subject "Values and Norms" in teacher training courses for grammar schools (Professor W. Alberts, Professor U. Feest, Faculty of Humanities)
- AIPP ("Aktives Internet-Praxis-Projekt") - web-based course-related joint project for students in mechanical engineering (Professor S. Kabelac, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering)
- digiPro - improving understanding chemistry by using a digital problem-based learning environment (Professor S. Schanze, Faculty of Natural Sciences)
- StudyIng 4.0: receptiveness and individualisation of teaching and learning in the context of Industry 4.0 (Professor M. Achmus, Professor U. Nackenhorst, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodetic Science)
- E-learning at the Faculty of Economics and Management - active, communicative, instructive (Professor K. Blaufus, Faculty of Economics and Management)
- Development and implementation of digitised tasks in the basic courses Algebra1/II and Analysis 1/II for new students in the bachelor''s programme Mathematics (Professor E. Jeckelmann, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics)
"We are delighted about the result, which acknowledges our continuous efforts to improve the quality of studying and teaching", says Professor Elfriede Billmann-Mahecha, Vice President for Teaching and Academic Programmes. Within the framework of the strategy for teaching and studying, LUH develops various projects in the nine faculties. A sustainable strategy in this field was a condition for participation in the MWK competition.
