Leibniz University Hannover offers its scientists the opportunity to discuss the risks of research projects with colleagues and drawing on research expertise: the Senate’s Committee for Responsible Research, in which all of the university's member groups are represented, provides scientists with assistance by advising them on the consequences of their research, as well as on the controllability and prevention of the harmful use of research and its results.
In April 2016, the Senate adopted the "Guidelines for Responsible Research at Leibniz University Hannover" simultaneously to the establishment of the Committee for Responsible Research. These guidelines provide general information and assistance to researchers in the identification and management of security risks in research projects.
