The Institute of Political Science welcomes applications for the following position starting as soon as possible: Research Position in MWK research project (salary scale 13 TV-L, 100%)
The position is limited for a time period of 30 months.
Your role
- The position is advertised in the project “Improving voting materials,” which is sponsored by the Lower Saxony Ministry for Science and Culture. The project goal is to systematize the German voting materials (ballots, mail ballots, etc.) with the aim of developing proposals for their improvement in terms of design and language for practitioners. To this end, the project will conduct two student-led research projects and several survey experiments.
- The project is associated with the Chair for Quantitative Political Science Methods at the Institute of Political Science at the Leibniz University Hannover.
- The position is tasked with managing the overall project, running the student-led research projects and the survey experiments, as well as coordinating the research assistants. Additional tasks are co-authoring project publications and developing future research projects.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate must hold a completed university degree in political science or a neighboring discipline.
In addition, we are looking for a candidate with the following:
- We expect a completed or soon to be completed PhD in a relevant field.
- We expect applicants to have experience with quantitative political science methods.
- Experience with the programming language R and political science experiments are appreciated.
- Ideally, the applicant has experience with research on the administration of elections.
