Research Position in the field Quantitative Political Science Methods

The Institute of Political Science welcomes applications for the following position starting March 1, 2025: Research Position in the field Quantitative Political Science Methods (salary scale 13 TV-L, 100%)

The position is limited for a time period of 29 months.

Your role

• The position is advertised in the team for Quantitative Political Science Methods at the Institute of Political Science.
• You will be tasked with developing and teaching two courses in the field of quantitative political science methods per semester.
• You will also be conducting your independent research as well as participating in the research of the team, including participating in common publications.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate must hold a completed university degree in political science or a neighboring discipline.

In addition, we are looking for a candidate with the following:

• We expect a completed or soon to be completed PhD in a relevant field.
• We expect applicants to have experience with quantitative political science methods as well as with the programming language R.
• Experience with quantitative text analysis is appreciated.
• We expect the work of the applicants to speak to the ongoing research of the team in the fields of party and legislative research, subnational and local politics, or electoral system research.
