The Institute of Production Engineering and Machine Tools (IFW) welcomes applications for the following position starting April 1, 2025: Student Assistant on the subject of “Production and investigation of grinding tools" (23 hours per month)
The position is initially limited to 3 months for project-related reasons.
Your role
Immerse yourself in the world of grinding tools and support us in the development and characterisation of innovative bonding systems. With us, you will pass through all stages of the process chain - from the manufacture to the application of the grinding tools - and gain insights into the latest industrial trends. You will work on projects that contribute to the development of new solutions in the grinding tool industry. If you would like to work in a dedicated team and help shape the future of grinding tool production, we look forward to receiving your application
The area of responsibility includes support with the:
- Production and characterisation of grinding tools and test specimens
- Application investigation of grinding tools
- Development of new bonding systems and cutting materials
- Analysing and maintaining the collected data
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a motivated student assistant to join our team with immediate effect.
Your profile:
- You have a good command of German and English
- Independent and structured work is a matter of course for you
- Knowledge in the field of machining and materials science is advantageous
- Interest in working in a laboratory and with a machine
A prerequisite for employment is valid enrolment at a German university, ideally in a degree programme relevant to the position (mechanical engineering, chemistry, materials science or similar subjects).
