LUH president Prof. Dr. Volker Epping passes the baton to Ladislav Janíček of the Brno University of Technology.

Prof. Dr. Volker Epping, president of Leibniz University Hannover (LUH), has been the senior chairperson of the EULiST Presidents’ Board since the EULiST – European Universities Linking Society and Technology alliance was founded in 2021. LUH initiated the network of 10 European partner universities. Now Volker Epping has passed the official EULiST duties over to his successor, Ladislav Janíček, president of the Brno University of Technology (BUT) in the Czech Republic.

To mark the occasion, an LUH delegation travelled to Brno in May. The baton was handed over during the EULiST General Assembly there. The heads of EULiST held in-depth discussions in the Czech Republic on the future planning of the network. The consortium of ten universities aims to build a long-term strategic partnership in order to jointly promote and expand networking and dialogue between society and technological development in education, research and knowledge transfer. Various forms of cooperation consisting of coordinated educational offers, networking and the promotion of stays abroad are currently being developed. Among other things, the aim is to make it possible for students to obtain a degree through a combination of university studies in several EU countries.

The EU partner universities: Leibniz University Hannover, National Technical University of Athens (Greece), Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic), Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (Slovakia), Lappeenranta-Lathi University of Technology (Finland), Jönköping University (Sweden), Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain), TU Wien (Austria), University of L’Aquila (Italy), Institut Mines-Télécom (France).
