The group of university instructors has seven representatives in the Senate, while the other groups each have two. As stated in clause 8 of Leibniz University’s statutes, all the representatives except for the student group were elected in the 2022/23 winter semester for a two-year term (1 April 2023–31 March 2025). In the 2022/23 winter semester, the student representatives were elected for a term from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024. The student members will be elected in January 2024 and all members of the Senate will be up for re-election in January 2025. The president is the chairperson. Dr. Siefert manages the Senate’s business.
