(salary scale 13 TV-L, 100 %)

Nestled in a modern city surrounded by nature and with an exceptional standard of living, Leibniz University Hannover offers excellent working conditions in a vibrant scientific community.

The Institute of Mechanics and Computational Mechanics welcomes applications for the following position starting 1st October 2024: Research Assistance (Doctoral Researcher; m/f/d) in the field of Geomechanics (salary scale 13 TV-L, 100 %)

The position is limited to 3 years.

The successful candidate will be working on the project "A continuum-discrete hierarchical multi-scale computational framework for modelling mechanical behaviours of MICP-treated soil", funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).

Your role

This project aims to advance the understanding and simulation capabilities for MICP-treated soils and offers valuable insights for the engineering practices of MICP in large scale. In the IBNM, you will do research in an international and diverse team on cutting edge methods for physics-based simulation of complex systems behaviour and processes. We offer a collaborative guidance of your research accompanied with training on additional scientific skills.

Who are we looking for?

You have completed a university science degree from an engineering, mathematics or natural sciences programme, which qualifies to enter doctoral studies in Germany? You are excited to investigate complex physical processes in engineering via computational simulation and their utilisation for industrial applications? We are excited on your application!

Equal opportunities and diversity are core values at Leibniz University Hannover. Our goal is to tap into individual potential and open up possibilities. We therefore welcome applications from anyone interested in the position, irrespective of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or ideology, disability, age, sexual orientation and identity.
