Research Staff (Postdoc, m/f/d) in Political Economy or International Economics

The Institute of Macroeconomics (Prof. Dr. Martin Gassebner) welcomes applications for the following position starting October 1st, 2024 or later upon mutual agreement: Research Staff (Postdoc, m/f/d) in Political Economy or International Economics (salary scale 13 TV-L, 100 %)

The fixed-term position has a duration of three years, with the possibility of extension.

Your role

The Institute currently consists of one full professor, one postdoctoral researcher, and five PhD students. We offer exciting projects, the possibility of independent research, and participation in our vast international network.

You are expected to conduct empirical research in the fields of political economy, international economics, and/or development economics. While the position comes with teaching and administrative obligations, the focus is on research and stimulating the further academic career (habilitation) of the position holder.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate must hold a doctorate (or is close to completing) in economics or political science.

In addition, we are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Excellent academic performance as well as excellent skills in econometrics is desirable
  • Proficiency in English in speaking and writing is essential (knowledge of German is helpful but not necessary)
