The Chair for Territorial Design & Urban Planning at the Institute of Urban Design and Planning welcomes applications for the following position open from 1st October 2024: Researcher and Lecturer (m/f/d) in Urbanism (salary scale 13 TV-L, 50%)

The position is to be filled for a duration of 3 years, with the possibility of an extension.

Your role

The Chair for Territorial Design & Urban Planning works at the interface between design-driven research, performative research and innovation in design for urban and territorial transformation. In research and teaching, new links between urban, territorial and architectural dimensions are developed in response to societal challenges. Current research projects are funded by the European Union in the Creative Europe Programme and as Innovation Alliance CiD CIRCULAR DESIGN.

You will work independently as part of a team in the Chair's research and in cooperation with national and international academic and non-academic partner organisations as well as for teaching in the Master's programme in Architecture and Urban Design and the Bachelor's programme in Architecture. You will be supported in your academic and innovatory development and have the opportunity to prepare for a doctorate.

Who are we looking for?

You are committed and independent, a team player with good communication skills and are fluent in German and English, organisational skills and management experience. You demonstrate outstanding methodological, conceptual and design skills in urban design, urban planning and architecture. You have successfully completed a university degree in urban design, urban planning and/or architecture and have specialist knowledge of urban design, urban planning and architecture.
