Research Associate/PhD Position (m/f/d) for“Hydrological Modelling”

The Institute of Hydrology and Water Resources Management at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodetic Science welcomes applications for the following position at the earliest possible date: Research Associate/PhD Position (m/f/d) for“Hydrological Modelling” (salary scale 13 TV-L, 100%)

The fixed-term position is for a duration of 36 months with a possible extension.

Your role

The position holder is required to do scientific research in the fields of precipitation statistics, radar data analyses and hydrological modelling. In addition, teaching assistance in English and German languages for the courses offered by the institute and supervision of student theses is wanted.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate must hold a university science degree in hydrology, civil engineering with specialization in water sciences, meteorology or equivalent.

In addition, we expect these characteristics from the applicant :

  • above-average marks in university
  • good knowledge in both Hydrology and Statistics
  • good computer programming skills
  • very good proficiency in German and English languages
  • and interest in writing a doctorate
