IIT Bombay was founded in 1958 and is a highly renowned public technical university located in Powai, a northern suburb of Mumbai. It has 13 faculties in natural and engineering sciences, as well as a humanities faculty. Additionally, there is a faculty for industrial design. The green campus offers 14 hostels for both domestic and international students, with two of them exclusively for female students.
