The specialist master’s degree programme comprises eleven modules, including a final module and a job-oriented project module. In their first year, students undergo an intensive phase of academic training, focusing on the methods and content involved in sports science. The degree programme collaborates with several cooperation partners, such as Hannover Medical School, giving students the opportunity to gain valuable interdisciplinary insight.

In their second year, students apply the knowledge gained and the scientific working techniques they have learnt: they gain valuable practical experience by completing a job-related project, which they can build on to develop the topic of their master’s thesis. This project stage may be combined with a period abroad; students are expected to complete their projects externally in a relevant field of work. They are closely monitored during the preparatory and implementation stage.

Students acquire supplementary key transferable skills, which they choose from a wide range of courses on offer.
