The name Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover (or Leibniz University Hannover) provides a home for all faculties and connects them through the polymath. In 2006 and on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the university, the former “Universität Hannover” was renamed Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hannover. The university’s profile with particular reference to Leibniz is established in the mission statement of LUH. In addition, the link between Leibniz and the university is reflected in our logo.
