Leibniz University Hannover offers its scientists the opportunity to discuss the risks of research projects in a cooperative, expert manner. The Senate’s Commission for Responsibility in Research, in which all groups of members of the university are represented, provides support to scientists by assessing and advising on the consequences of research and on controllability and prevention of the harmful use of research and its results.
In April 2016, the the university Senate adopted "Guidelines on Responsible Research at Leibniz University Hannover" to support the establishment of the Commission. These guidelines provide researchers with general advice and assistance on identifying and dealing with security risks in research projects.
