University Professorship (m/f/d) in Material Technology, Remodeling and Conservation

The Faculty of Architecture and Landscape invites applications for the following position of salary scale W2 NBesO starting 1 October 2025: University Professorship (m/f/d) in Material Technology, Remodeling and Conservation

The Position

The professorship conducts innovative research into sustainable and renewable material technologies and processes for coating component surfaces and buildings, in particular existing buildings. We are looking for an outstanding personality for the research-oriented further development of coating, restoration, maintenance and design techniques. Production techniques, materials science, construction chemistry, energy-efficient building refurbishment, restoration and monument preservation are to be dealt with in an interdisciplinary manner against the background of sustainability. The professorship is part of the Institute for Vocational Studies in the Building Trade in the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape. It is committed to innovation in craftsmanship in connection with architecture. The professorship is responsible for teaching the vocational subjects of color technology and interior design in the teacher training courses at vocational schools and is involved in teaching the B.Sc. Technical Education and M.Ed. Teacher Training Courses at Vocational Schools in the vocational subjects of construction technology and wood technology as well as in the B.Sc. Architecture.

Your Profile

To fulfill the above-mentioned tasks is expected and required:

  • Above-average doctorate in one of the subject areas
  • Professional relevance in at least two of the above-mentioned subject areas, proven by publications
  • Ability to connect to existing research at the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape at Leibniz University Hannover

It is requested:

  • Experience and success in acquiring third-party funding and/or patent applications
  • Experience in the supervision of young scientists
  • Practical experience in the field of color, coating or surface technology
