President’s Staff

The central responsibility of the president’s staff is to provide expert advice to the university management in order to support decision-making processes and ensure the modern and professional management of the university. The spectrum of tasks encompasses the collection, preparation and provision of data, information and processes as the basis for strategic decisions; the creation of development plans for Leibniz University Hannover; and strategic communications advising, internal and external communications, and the handling of inquiries directed to the university management.

In order to fulfil these duties, the president’s staff is made up of employees with diverse responsibilities and areas of expertise. This ensures that any demands that arise can be addressed appropriately.

The following members of the president’s staff are available to address questions that fall within their particular area of responsibility:

    • Provision of support to the vice president for research on research-related development and strategy issues and the promotion of interdisciplinary research within the university

    • Overseeing of research evaluations, the implementation their findings, and the resulting follow-up tasks, statements and reports

    • Provision of support to the Presidential Board and, above all, the vice president for education on all strategic, organisational and formal matters related to teaching and academic programmes
    • Coordination of the exchange of information with the deans of studies offices and other university and non-university entities (e.g. Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony [MWK]) to address general and specific organisational and content-related questions
    • Overseeing of the introduction of new consecutive master's degree programmes as well as the amendment and discontinuation of existing degree courses
