We strive for universality, diversity and interdisciplinarity. With more than 28,000 students, three Clusters of Excellence, 5,000 members of staff, over 150 institutes and an outstanding infrastructure, Leibniz University Hannover offers an innovative environment for top-level education and research in a comprehensive range of subjects.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for the following position of Salary Scale W3 NBesO starting at the earliest possible date: University Professorship (m/f/d) in Electrotechnology and Sunstainable Industrial Process Heating

The Position

The professor to be appointed is responsible for the management of the Institute for Electrotechnology. The institute is one of 18 institutes in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at LUH. The research is focused on the design of systems for sustainable industrial heat supply and heat application, as well as technology and process development in the field of process heat supply and application with renewable energy and electromagnetic processing of materials.

The designs and solutions should take account of the fluctuating nature of energy supplied from renewable sources and address technological, ecological and economic aspects. The applied methods should include modelling, simulation and mathematical optimization, as well as experimental process development and validation.

Energy research is one of the research foci of Leibniz University Hannover. In this context an excellent environment for disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration is offered. Further points of contact arise locally through Leibniz Universität Hannover's long-standing involvement in the Energy Research Centre of Lower Saxony (EFZN). Participation in both networks is explicitly desired.

With regard to teaching, duties will include both introductory and advanced courses for students in the Faculty for Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as well as other engineering disciplines.
