Egypt

The Arab Republic of Egypt is an intercontinental state located mainly in north-eastern Africa. Egypt also has a land bridge that leads from the larger African part to the Sinai Peninsula in Asia. The more than 100 million inhabitants are spread over an area of more than one million square kilometers, especially in the Greater Cairo metropolitan area, one of the most populous urban regions in the world. In addition to Cairo as the capital, which is the largest metropolis in Africa and Arabia, Egypt is home to other cities with millions of inhabitants, such as Alexandria and Giza. The Nile, which is considered the longest river in the world with a total length of around 6650 km, flows through the entire country and flows into the Mediterranean Sea in the north of Egypt. The country's cultural history stretches back over 6000 years and ancient Egypt is considered one of the world's early advanced civilizations. Even today, Egypt is considered a “trendsetter” in the Arabic-speaking world and has a major influence on contemporary Arabic literature, music and art.
